New Moon August - Threshold Weaver
Threads of longing, threads of care, threads to unravel - leaving us bare

Thresholds of moments,
seasons and place;
Guided by spirits
weaving no trace.
What threshold do we collectively pause with at this time? What is our own threshold to face within?

Hello deer ones.
Blessed New Moon. There is excitement rising for the solar eclipse here too as it will be the first time we have a fully visible one since 1999. A very different landscape back then.
So for this New Moon post, I have been sensing the need to connect with an Oracle. I called upon my hand made black oracle booklet that contains a number of symbols, each representing an archetype or energetic focus. I refer to this collective group of symbols as my Antlered Allies Oracle.
The book kept nudging at me over the past week. You know the nudge I mean?! So I decided it felt right to open it with my focus on the upcoming lunar shift.
I created the symbols originally on black stones from a North Pembrokeshire beach, over 6 years ago. They express and represent certain energetic aspects of how I navigate the Antlered Path and my spiritual growth.
They are all liminal in their essence and arise the thresholds of awareness - between the seen and unseen and known and unknown. They resonate in that primal way which communicates without a linear or rational influence.
Often I sense their archetypes as beings or spirits that I encounter in this world (as can be the case with lots of oracles). And also symbols are universally potent ways of communicating, most ancient cultures developed and expressed themselves through a wide range of symbols. Whether a spiral, a cross or the Ouroboros, symbols convey far more about the Sacred domain than we may initially sense. How they are used and connected with can vary hugely ofcourse but their shapes and energies come from a universal source, one which is beyond ego and human control, I would argue.
What symbols do you resonate with and draw or focus on the most? What do they convey to you about your path?
Before I share on the key oracle symbol and ally further on in the post, that I have connected with for this New Moon, I will lend some light to how I have been noticing the energy of cutting back and waning growth.
Late Summer is full of this and particularly this year with the severe drought. It is already feeling like early Autumn and yet still no rain…

When we are with the threshold between potent growth and waning or dying, we are aware of the purpose of letting go, of grief and putting things to bed. Whilst still in the glow of the flowering tide, we sense the light lowering in subtle ways, we feel the tilt shift between the earth and sun and make our way to the threshold.
There are different stories around death, sacrifice and grief linked to harvest, relief too in some ways. The grief is tied up with the death of the Summer and growing months, but also in a way to the threshold of unknown darker days ahead.
Harvest is a threshold of gratitude and mourning all at the same time.
One of the crafts associated with ‘carrying the life force’ or spirit of Summer and harvest into the darker months is that of the Corn Dolly. This folk practice is rooted in the belief that once the crop has been harvested the empty field is no place for a ‘spirit’. So by creating the doll, it can live within her and then find it’s home in the new crop the following Spring and Summer.
I wrote a post on Corn Dollies and spirits of the harvest last year if this calls to you, you can read it here .
